Job summary

Albany State University invites applications for a Limited Term Faculty position in Forensic Science. The successful candidate will provide high-quality undergraduate instruction, including introductory and laboratory-based courses, while supporting student success, advisement, curriculum delivery, and departmental activities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Forensic Science or a STEM discipline from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Chemistry, Forensic Science, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in Forensic Science and/or related STEM disciplines.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate scientific concepts and engage undergraduate students in classroom and laboratory settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in undergraduate Forensic Science courses, including introductory, laboratory-based, and discipline-specific courses.
• Prepare and deliver lectures, laboratory exercises, demonstrations, assessments, and other instructional activities consistent with course and program learning objectives.
• Evaluate and document student learning, progress, and performance.
• Provide academic advisement and guidance related to the Forensic Science curriculum, course sequencing, and student progression.
• Engage students in meaningful learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
• Support experiential, laboratory, research, and career-oriented learning opportunities when appropriate.
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, program activities, recruitment, and other service responsibilities.
• Collaborate with faculty and departmental leadership on curriculum development, course delivery, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain appropriate professional knowledge and currency in forensic science and related STEM disciplines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
