Job summary

LSB Chemical L.L.C. Pryor site seeks an MI Engineer to develop the site MI program, manage PCMS data, and support MI leads while aligning with long-term reliability goals.

The role requires coordinating inspections, writing MI procedures, reviewing ITPs, and providing QA oversight for contractor work, with potential extended hours during turnarounds and field engagement across sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Complete API, National Board, and AWS certifications.
  • Write detailed recommendation memos to support AFE justification and historical benefits.
  • Comply with all safety requirements, procedures, written processes, and policies.
  • Review site generated ITP’s for external and internal inspections of stationary equipment.
  • Assist site MI’s with expertise to run and maintain activities.
  • Train others on good manufacturing practices and applicable codes.
  • Collaborate with corporate MI manager and other sites.

Responsibilities

  • Recommends and collaborates with the site MI leads in setting inspection frequencies of pressure vessels, tanks, and pipe systems based on the applicable codes, materials of construction, and damage mechanisms.
  • LSB lead over the PCMS database and ensures its information is accurate and that its asset description matches with the descriptions in JDE.
  • Oversees the inspection due dates in PCMS and works with site MI leads to create timelines for inspection due dates to ensure inspections do not become past due.
  • Make equipment improvement recommendations via official recommendation memos to share with project engineering, operations and maintenance.
  • Writes MI procedures and process that apply to all LSB sites.
  • Supports capital projects as needed to ensure new equipment meets applicable codes and standards.
  • Makes material of construction recommendations based on damage mechanisms and materials of construction.
  • As requested, reviews drawings for new stationary equipment to meet applicable codes.
  • Supports maintenance and operations as needed to ensure the plants are operating in a safe manner.
  • Develops and maintain IOWs for the sites stationary equipment.
  • As needed, create detailed ITP’s and provide recommended QC procedures for contractor code work.
  • Review all MI lead created ITP’s for correctness and that they meet the inspection requirements for the particular damage mechanism for the asset the IT was created for.
  • As needed, provide QA oversite for contractors performing QC functions.
  • Reviews and approves leak repair enclosure plans and calculations.
  • Travel to the sites on a regular basis to support the MI leads.
  • Supports TA activities by actively engaging in the field at the sites. This may require 12+ hours days, nights, and on weekends.
  • As needed, performs inspections on stationary equipment (once applicable certification is obtained).
  • Works with NDE companies to become knowledgeable on the newest technology.
  • Act as liaison for QA duties for contractor implementation of code repairs including code packages, travelers, NDE, welding, and final sign off.
  • Attends continued education requirements to stay up to date on the latest technologies and trends for inspection methods and changes to codes.
  • As needed, perform shop inspections for new vessel fabrication to ensure quality and code compliance is acceptable.

Job Location: LSB Pryor OK - Pryor, OK 74361The position will report to the site Corporate MI Program Manager and will be responsible for developing skills of the site MI leads, managing PCMS, supporting the sites and MI leads as needed, and actively participate in the long-term strategy of improving reliability through a comprehensive MI program. Continued education and growth allows the MI Engineer to increase skills and knowledge to help improve the understanding of the requirements for a robust MI program.
