The Associate will contribute to daily P&L reporting and analysis, balance sheet substantiation, control execution, issue escalation, and process improvement across the Fixed Income franchise.

In the Finance division, we partner with business units across the globe by providing management reporting, analysis, review, and advisory support related to the Firm’s financial and capital resources. Since 1935, Morgan Stanley is known as a global leader in financial services, always evolving and innovating to better serve our clients and our communities in more than 40 countries around the world.

Responsibilities
  • Produce, investigate, and report daily Profit and Loss (P&L), including analysis of key drivers and movements.
  • Partner with the Business Unit, Technology, Operations, and other Controllers to deliver accurate P&L reporting and timely issue resolution.
    • Review and allocate P&L attribution into appropriate market-based effects, including Greeks, and non-market-based effects.
    • Support monthly net revenue and balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation, including identifying differences between the General Ledger and P&L reporting systems.
  • Escalate, research, and help resolve outstanding breaks, reporting issues, and stakeholder questions in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the execution and improvement of controls, procedures, and reporting processes.
  • Support Finance and business initiatives, ad hoc analysis, and projects that strengthen the overall control environment.
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Finance, Accounting, financial markets, or financial products, with an interest in Fixed Income markets.
  • Previous experience in financial services, audit, accounting, product control, operations, or a related control function preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to investigate and explain financial results.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • A control-minded approach, with the judgment to elevate issues appropriately and challenge processes constructively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with data, reporting, or automation tools is a plus.
