Franklin Templeton in Philadelphia is seeking a highly analytical Portfolio Construction Analyst to advance our fixed income portfolio construction and research capabilities. This role partners with portfolio management, risk, performance, and client service teams to enhance our investment framework.

The ideal candidate combines strong quantitative skills with deep interest in markets, portfolio construction, and behavioral aspects of investing.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in fixed income, portfolio construction, risk management, and quantitative research.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; CFA/advanced degree preferred.
• Strong programming and data analysis skills (Python, R, MATLAB, SQL) and experience with risk systems.
• Familiarity with options markets and derivatives analytics is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance portfolio construction and risk management frameworks aligned with the team’s philosophy.
• Build market risk factor frameworks to assess portfolio exposures.
• Analyze position risk in standalone and portfolio contexts.
• Conduct volatility research and develop optimization tools for manager views.
• Research risk regimes, evaluate metrics across environments, and improve downside risk measures.
• Partner with client service and implementation teams for customized solutions.
