Job summary

Thrivent's summer internship program offers hands-on experience in the Private Placement investment team, supporting research and analysis in Investment Grade and High Yield Credit. You'll work closely with portfolio managers and analysts, developing a foundation in fixed income research and investment processes.

Qualifications

• Completed first year of graduate program with a demonstrated history of strong academic performance.
• Working knowledge of accounting, finance, corporate strategy, real estate and financial statistics.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making and mathematical skills.
• Ability to take work direction from various leaders as well as work independently.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel. Experience with investment tools such as DealCloud, Accelex, Aladdin, and/or Bloomberg is a plus.
• Ability to work full time during the summer.

Responsibilities

• Provide research support for analyzing and underwriting credit investments.
• Monitoring credit risk and performance of existing investment holdings.
• Perform independent research on industries and sectors within fixed income market.
• Participate and contribute to all aspects of the investment process including meetings with issuers and management.
• Participate in Investment Committee for new investments.
