Qualifications

Our INVISTA site in Victoria, TX is seeking a Fixed Equipment Mechanical Engineer to provide technical expertise and leadership across mechanical integrity, asset reliability, and equipment strategies while partnering with cross-functional teams to improve safety, reliability, and operational performance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys influencing others, developing sustainable improvements, and creating value through technical expertise and leadership.

Our Team

Our Fixed Equipment Reliability team partners with operations, maintenance, engineering, and reliability organizations to improve asset reliability, equipment integrity, and operational performance. In this role, you will collaborate with site-based teams while also working closely with a broader network of fixed equipment subject matter experts across the organization. The team shares knowledge, solves complex equipment challenges, and helps strengthen reliability programs across multiple manufacturing sites.

What You Will Do

• Provide technical leadership for mechanical integrity and fixed equipment reliability programs.
• Lead cross functional mechanical integrity and fixed equipment programs through technical influence and subject matter expertise.
• Support fixed equipment initiatives including pressure relief devices, piping systems, corrosion management, materials engineering, and fixed asset reliability.
• Conduct engineering evaluations and risk-based assessments to improve asset reliability, regulatory compliance, and long-term equipment performance.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, reliability, project, and turnaround teams to develop and execute effective asset strategies.
• Provide technical support for capital projects, process hazard analyses (PHAs), turnarounds, and lifecycle asset decisions.
• Apply industry standards, engineering principles, and internal guidance documents to support safe, compliant, and reliable operation of fixed assets.
• Lead root cause analyses and develop sustainable solutions to improve equipment reliability and operational performance.
• Influence and collaborate across site and capability teams to drive continuous improvement in mechanical integrity and reliability programs.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Three (3) or more years' experience supporting fixed equipment, mechanical integrity, reliability, inspection, or maintenance programs within a manufacturing, chemical, refining, or industrial environment.
• Experience performing engineering evaluations for fixed equipment and piping systems.
• Experience applying industry codes and standards such as API and ASME.
• Experience providing technical leadership or leading cross-functional reliability initiatives

What Will Put You Ahead

• Eight (8) or more years of experience supporting fixed equipment reliability and mechanical integrity programs
• Experience developing and executing mechanical integrity, inspection, or fixed equipment reliability strategies
• Experience with pressure relief device programs, fitness-for-service evaluations, corrosion management, and materials engineering.
• Experience supporting risk-based inspection methodologies and lifecycle asset management strategies.
• Experience supporting capital projects, turnarounds, and process hazard analyses.
• Experience conducting root cause analyses and implementing sustainable reliability improvements.
• Additional Certifications or knowledge in AMPP Corrosion technologist, API 653 Tank Inspector, API 570 Piping Inspector, API 510 Pressure vessel, API 571 damage mechanism
