Job summary

INVISTA's Seaford site is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Reliability Engineer to enhance reliability, safety, and performance of critical manufacturing assets. You will lead proactive improvements across power, motors, drives, and instrumentation while applying predictive maintenance and lifecycle strategies.

You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Project teams to deploy modernization efforts, evaluate performance data, and justify investments with economic analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation Engineering or related field.
• Experience with power distribution systems, motor control centers, switchgear, transformers, motors, drives, and protective relaying.
• Experience supporting industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, or reliability programs.
• Experience identifying equipment performance issues, determining underlying causes, and implementing sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead proactive reliability improvements for electrical, instrumentation, and control-system assets to reduce recurring failures.
• Develop and improve reliability strategies for power-distribution systems and associated equipment.
• Perform root cause failure analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Evaluate equipment data and apply predictive and condition-monitoring technologies.
• Support electrical-safety initiatives including arc-flash mitigation and grounding.
• Provide engineering support for instrumentation upgrades and modernization projects.
• Prepare specifications, scopes of work, and economic justifications for reliability projects.
• Support management of change and risk-reduction activities.
• Identify and champion automation, monitoring, and digital solutions to improve safety and performance.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations to enhance troubleshooting capability.
• Support predictive-maintenance programs such as thermography and motor health monitoring.
• Assist with commissioning, startup, and performance testing of systems.
• Use PBM principles to prioritize reliability investments toward high-value opportunities.

INVISTA's Seaford site is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Reliability Engineer to play a key role in advancing the reliability, safety, and performance of critical manufacturing assets. In this position, you'll leverage your expertise in electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, and reliability engineering to solve complex challenges, eliminate recurring failures, and help drive the site's journey toward more predictive and proactive operations. Our Team

This role is part of a collaborative reliability and engineering team focused on improving asset performance, operational excellence, and long-term site capability. In this role, you'll work closely with site Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Project, and Technical teams to identify opportunities, solve complex problems, and implement sustainable improvements. You'll serve as a trusted technical resource across the site, partnering with a wide range of stakeholders to support reliability strategies, modernization efforts, while helping build technical capability. This role contributes to INVISTA's Electrical and Instrumentation Capability Teams, defining and deploying enterprise wide reliability strategies that strengthen technical capability, standardize asset care practices, and improve long term operational performance and risk reduction across the organization.

What You Will Do

• Lead proactive reliability improvements for electrical, instrumentation, and control-system assets, focusing on recurring-failure elimination, lifecycle strategies, and long-term equipment performance
• Develop and improve reliability strategies for power-distribution systems, motors, drives, motor control centers, transformers, switchgear, analyzers, transmitters, control valves, and field instrumentation.
• Perform root cause failure analysis and develop sustainable corrective actions to eliminate recurring failures and bad actors.
• Evaluate equipment performance data and apply predictive and condition-monitoring technologies to improve reliability and reduce lifecycle cost.
• Support site electrical-safety initiatives, including arc-flash mitigation, grounding, protective systems, and compliance with applicable standards.
• Provide engineering support for instrumentation upgrades, replacements, and modernization projects.
• Prepare specifications, scopes of work, engineering packages, and economic justifications for reliability and capital projects.
• Support Management of Change, process hazard analysis action closure, and risk-reduction activities.
• Identify and champion automation, monitoring, and digital solutions that improve safety, reliability, and economic performance.
• Partner with Maintenance and Operations to strengthen troubleshooting capability and technical knowledge.
• Support predictive-maintenance programs, including thermography, motor monitoring, instrumentation-health monitoring, and power-system inspections.
• Assist with commissioning, startup, and performance testing of new or modified systems.
• Use economic decision-making and PBM principles to prioritize reliability investments and resources toward the highest-value opportunities.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with power distribution systems, motor control centers, switchgear, transformers, motors, AC and DC drives, and protective relaying.
• Experience supporting industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, controls, or reliability programs.
• Experience identifying equipment performance issues, determining underlying causes, and implementing sustainable solutions that improve reliability.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Three (3) more years of experience supporting electrical, instrumentation, controls, or electrical-reliability programs in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with process instrumentation, control valves, interlocks, and burner management systems.
• Experience with PLC, DCS, and industrial control systems.
• Knowledge of reliability methods including root cause failure analysis, FMEA, predictive maintenance, and condition monitoring.
• Experience with PI System, Seeq, SAP, or other industrial data and maintenance systems.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, ISA, OSHA, and other applicable engineering standards.
• Experience supporting reliability or capital projects through cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, or economic justification.
• Experience building technical capability and advancing knowledge within an organization.
