Job summary

Azenta Inc. seeks a detail-oriented Fixed Assets Accountant to join our Finance team in Burlington, MA. You will manage fixed asset subledger, capitalization, depreciation, and asset rollforwards while supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.

You will partner with Procurement, Accounts Payable, and business owners to ensure accurate asset records, perform reconciliations, and prepare schedules for audits, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of general accounting experience including fixed asset accounting and month-end close.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the fixed asset subledger, including asset additions, transfers, disposals, retirements, and depreciation.
• Review capital expenditure activity to ensure costs are capitalized per policy and U.S. GAAP.
• Partner with business owners, Procurement, and Accounts Payable to resolve fixed asset coding and AP questions.
• Prepare and post recurring and nonrecurring journal entries related to fixed assets, depreciation, CIP, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other close areas.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of fixed asset accounts, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor construction-in-progress balances and coordinate with project owners to place assets into service promptly.
• Support periodic physical asset inventories and asset verification activities.
• Prepare fixed asset rollforwards, depreciation forecasts, and other management reporting schedules.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities to meet deadlines.
• Provide documentation for audits, including asset additions, disposals, reconciliations, and controls.
• Maintain compliance with accounting policies and established close procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve close efficiency and asset reporting.
