Job summary

Helmerich & Payne, Inc. is seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to join the finance team onsite. The role focuses on analyzing costs, preparing journals for fixed assets and inventory, and performing physical inventories at yard, vendor, and rig locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze costs and prepare accounting journals for fixed assets and warehouse inventory accounts.
• Perform physical inventories of fixed assets at yard/vendor/rig locations.
• Perform warehouse inventory audits and reconcile with accounting records.
• Attach asset ID tags on capital fixed assets.
• Maintain accounting records of fixed assets and warehouse inventory balances.
• Suggest improvements to inventory processes for efficiency and accuracy.
• Participate in accounting special projects as assigned.
• Take corrective actions timely per company policy.
• Demonstrate H&P values in daily work.

At a Glance

The Fixed Asset Accountant is a member of the finance team that will analyze costs and prepare accounting journals for fixed asset and inventory accounts, perform physical inventories of assets and inventory at yard/rig/vendor locations, and reconcile those inventories back to the accounting records. Duties will also include replacing or installing asset ID tags on capital fixed assets and maintaining system requests to ensure the timely update of financial information.

• Perform warehouse inventory audits
• Attaching asset ID tags on capital fixed assets.
• Reconcile physical equipment inventories to the accounting records.
• Maintain accounting records of fixed assets and warehouse inventory balances.
• Suggests changes to inventory processes and procedures to be more efficient and accurate
• Participates in assigned accounting special projects
• Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy

What you need

• Bachelor degree in Accounting (Or Related Field
• Must have proficient PC skills, Microsoft Office applications required undefined
• Must be willing to work outside (rig site) for long periods at a time.
• Some travel required (approx. up to 20%)
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to pay close attention to detail
• Excellent professional, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Self-motivated
