Accounting and Finance Recruiter for CI Search Group

The Senior Fixed Assets Accountant is tasked with documenting new asset acquisitions, maintaining records for current assets, processing depreciation, and managing the accounting for asset disposals — all in alignment with standard accounting practices and principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and validate journal entries, ensuring proper classification and compliance with standard accounting principles.
• Analyze vendor invoices to determine proper treatment of expenditures—whether to capitalize or expense—based on internal asset management guidelines and GAAP standards.
• Ensure prompt recording of asset additions, disposals, and retirements, applying cost segregation practices for property and facility enhancements when appropriate.
• Manage the setup of internal cost structures, and coordinate external segmentation for significant capital initiatives.
• Aggregate construction-related expenses into construction-in-progress (CIP) accounts and reconcile those balances upon project completion.
• Perform monthly reconciliations between asset tracking sub-ledgers and the general ledger, ensuring correct classification of assets and related financial entries.
