Job summary

Catholic Charities is seeking a Maintenance Worker for the Hope House Fix It Program in Dover, NJ. This per diem role focuses on field home repairs and on-site maintenance to support safety and housing improvements.

Responsibilities include safety assessments, minor repairs, weatherization work, and collaboration with staff to promote the program. Must have a NJ driver’s license and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of minor household repairs including plumbing, electric and carpentry.
• Must have a valid N.J. Driver's license.
• Requires lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Complete home safety assessments in client homes.
• Perform minor repairs related to safety, weatherization, handrails or small ramps.
• Carry out seasonal upkeep tasks and minor appliance repairs.
• Participate in community outreach and program promotion.
• Process work orders and expense reimbursements for Fix It services.
• Track and manage Fix It supply inventory.
• Install Hope Connection units and monitor supplies.
• Complete monthly Site Safety Survey for Hope House.
• Contribute to ongoing quality improvement and team meetings.
• Support effective operation of Catholic Charities.
