Job description

Coperion is currently seeking a Welder to support our location in Whitewater, WI. There is a lot of room for growth in other disciplines if desired! We have a 5S environment, a very clean production floor and great people to work with!

Schedule: 1st shift Monday-Thursday 6am-3pm & Friday 6am - Noon.

Responsibilities:

• Performs welding and/or fitting, set-up, and layout of raw and formed metal in the creation of metal products.
• Basic ability to read prints, tolerances, and job requirements.
• Cleans and/or grinds welds.
• Performs general basic maintenance on equipment and workstation ensuring a clean, safe and orderly work environment.
• Checks quality of welds, repairing as needed.
• Performs basic use of grinders, bevellers, torches, and other standard welding equipment.
• Supports our lean manufacturing process with 5S.
• Adheres to ISO 9001 company standards, work instructions and procedures.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Welding Certificate or 3 or more years’ welding experience.
• Prior TIG Welding required.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Familiarity with blueprint reading.
• Ability to multitask.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.
• Dependability a must.
• Blueprint and Schematic Reading required.
