Position Requirements

1. Read Structural Drawings: Ability to layout any structural component assigned to them efficiently and with high quality.
2. Inspect Parts: Check all parts provided for fitting to ensure high quality standards.
3. Weld Symbols and Structural Drawings: Maintain understanding of weld symbols and structural drawings, and identify potential issues, missing items, or errors related to quality or detailing.
4. Knowledge of Standards: Understand AWS and AISC requirements for structural steel and weld quality, and visual acceptance criteria.
5. Welding Tests: Pass welding tests for required procedures and positions, primarily GMAW or MIG welding, as well as FCAW.
6. Component Welding and Fabrication: Weld components or send them for welding; fabricate miscellaneous parts when necessary, such as clip angles, plates, or bent plates.
7. Operational Skills: Operate shop cranes, forklifts, rigging equipment, and basic shop machinery including bandsaw, ironworker, torch & plasma cutter, fabrication hand tools, and welding machines.
8. Shop Duties: Assist with shop tasks like loading/unloading trucks, cleaning, inspecting machinery, and helping during busy periods, maintaining a positive attitude and adherence to company policies.
