Job Description

Developing project bids, fabricating drawings, fabricating the steel to the drawings, and erecting the steel on the project site.

Responsibilities

1. Layout beams, columns, and other components per fabrication drawings to prepare for welding.
2. Weld using MIG and SMAW processes.
3. Perform metal drilling, grinding, sawing, punching, shearing, etc., as required.
4. Prepare materials for proper welding.
5. Produce work quality that meets industry standards.
6. Apply proper welds by reading and understanding fabrication drawings.
7. Set up welding machines with correct amperage, voltage, and wire speed.
8. Keep work area clean of trash and debris.
9. Maintain equipment cleanliness, readiness, and perform minor maintenance.
10. Operate a forklift safely to move and position materials.
11. Report any equipment maintenance or failures to immediate supervisors.
12. Unload delivery trucks when required.
13. Perform any other tasks assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Pass a welding certification test.
2. Understand verbal and written instructions.
3. Work with minimal supervision.
4. Read and understand fabrication drawings to layout materials.
5. Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
6. Read a tape measure.
7. Possess advanced mathematical skills.
8. Understand and pass safety training.
9. Pass a forklift driver certification test.
10. Work in a safe manner.
11. Collaborate constructively with team members.
12. Comply with all company rules, policies, and safety regulations.
