Job summary

Jones Valley Fabrication in Alabama is seeking a skilled plate fit-up welder to read shop drawings, lay out and fit fabricated structural components for welding. You will prepare parts by aligning and tacking plates and ensuring accurate fit before welding begins.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of fitting experience in heavy plate/structural work, owns their own tools, and works well in a team to support project timelines and quality.

Qualifications

• 5 years fitting experience in heavy plate and/or structural work.
• Must have own tools.

Responsibilities

• Read shop drawings and prepare fit-up for welding.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated structural components.

• Fit up various plate/structural weldments prior to welding.
• Read complicated shop drawings and fit up the steel for a welder to complete.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts of structural metal products.
• Performs related tasks as assigned.
