Job summary

NWPX Infrastructure in Adelanto, CA, is hiring a qualified welder/fabricator to lay out, fit, weld, and finish fabricated pipe components. You will work under supervision, read plans, and operate welding equipment including SMAW, FCAW, SAW, with overhead crane assistance.

This role offers overtime, weekends, and a path to career growth within a values-driven company. Candidates should have a 1-year certificate or 3–6 months related experience, experience with safety standards, and be able to

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training.
• On-the-job training by experienced fitters; validated by performance.
• Weld qualification in FCAW, SMAW, SAW required.

Responsibilities

• Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together according plans and specifications.
• Performs cleaning and grinding as required.
• Grinds welds and end finish.
• Cuts products with torch and other tools.
• Tacks product according to plans and specifications.

SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE:

Under ongoing supervision, measures, aligns cuts, fits elbows and welds, cleans and grinds fabricated products. May assist in coordinating activities of welders and fabricators for special welding techniques and/or procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together according plans and specifications
• Performs cleaning and grinding as required.
• Grinds welds and end finish.
• Cuts products with torch and other tools.
• Tacks product according to plans and specifications
• Moves pipe with overhead crane.
• Reading Tape measuring
• Other duties maybe assigned.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in the departmental housekeeping and safety efforts and works collaboratively with other members of the department and production counterparts to ensure production workflow

WORK HOURS / SHIFT

• Work hours vary or change from eight to twelve hours shifts based on operational needs.
• Must be able to work on Saturdays and overtime as required.

• The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures transcribing viewing a computer terminal extensive reading visual inspection involving small parts and /or operation of machines (including inspection) using measurement devices and /or assembly or fabrication at distances close to the eyes.
