Job summary

SiteWise LLC seeks a skilled Gas Fitters/Fusers to install, inspect, repair and maintain gas lines and equipment in Henderson, CO. The Operator I role supports the crew, handling fusion, piping, and meter work while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of underground utilities experience, a valid CDL A, and a fitter certification, with DOT and drug-screen requirements. This is a non-exempt, labor-intensive field position.

Qualifications

• One (1+) plus years experience working with underground utilities is required
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis
• Fitter certification is required
• Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License is required
• Candidates must pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated physical as a requirement of the job and pass a pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

• Assists crew leader in construction, reconstruction and maintenance work
• Assists equipment operators by swamping, hand digging and locating underground obstructions
• Works with specialized equipment including fusion machines, jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners and other industry tools
• Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
• Works safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers and dump truck
• Cleans and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
• Performs plastic pipe fusion including socket, butt, mechanical, saddle and electro-fusion
• Taps and stops plastic and steel gas fittings
• Performs cathodic protection work including installation of anodes, test leads and pipe to soil measurements
• Loads and unloads materials, tools, and equipment onto and from trucks by hand
• Installs gas meters, regulators, piping and pipe fitting work with black iron pipe
• Repairs gas leaks including above ground meter sets and piping and below ground steel and plastic
• Keeps legible, hand-written, accurate records including daily work logs and installation records

Gas Fitters/Fusers install, inspect, repair and maintain gas lines and gas equipment such as meters and regulators. The Gas Fitter/Fuser must perform all Laborer essential duties and responsibilities.
