Job summary

SiteWise is seeking a Gas Fitters/Fusers in Henderson, CO to install, inspect, repair and maintain gas lines and equipment, including meters and regulators. The role requires CDL A, DOT physical, and a pre-employment drug screen, with 1+ year of underground utility experience.

You will assist the crew leader, operate fusion machines, and perform cathodic protection work, gas leak repairs, and piping installations. Strong record-keeping and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience working with underground utilities is required.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis.
• Fitter certification is required.
• Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License is required.
• MVR check, a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical, and pre-employment drug screen are required.

Responsibilities

• Assists crew leader in construction, reconstruction and maintenance work.
• Assists equipment operators by swamping, hand digging and locating underground obstructions.
• Works with fusion machines, jackhammers, rotary drills, and other tools.
• Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Works safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers and dump trucks.
• Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate hazards.
• Performs plastic pipe fusion including socket, butt, mechanical, saddle and electro-fusion.
• Taps and stops plastic and steel gas fittings.
• Performs cathodic protection work including installation of anodes, test leads and pipe-to-soil measurements.
• Loads and unloads materials, tools, and equipment onto and from trucks by hand.
• Installs gas meters, regulators, piping and pipe fitting work with black iron pipe.
• Repairs gas leaks including above ground meter sets and piping and below ground steel and plastic.
• Keeps legible, hand-written, accurate records including daily work logs and installation records.

Job description

Gas Fitters/Fusers install, inspect, repair and maintain gas lines and gas equipment such as meters and regulators. The Gas Fitter/Fuser must perform all Laborer essential duties and responsibilities.

Pay Rate: $24 to $30 DOE

• One (1+) plus years experience working with underground utilities is required
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

• Fitter certification is required
• Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License is required
• Candidates must pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, a Department of Transportation (DOT) regulated physical as a requirement of the job and pass a pre-employment drug screen
