Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to calculate simple mathematics and interpret shop drawings.
• 1-3 years experience fitting in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Must be able to use GMAW welding equipment for tack welds.
• Ability to read weld symbols and understand blueprints.
• Must read a tape measure, levels, squares and angle finders to measure distances and angles.

Responsibilities

• Fit and layout components of large steel structures per layouts and blueprints.
• Read and complete labor reporting system, blueprints and standard forms.
• Tack weld material into place and prepare for finishing operations.
• Operate overhead cranes to move and hold material in place.
• Follow procedures, use grinders and drills to prep material for fitting.
