Job description

Experienced full-time Fitter needed in Tallapoosa, Ga for day/night shifts. Responsible for fitting and assembling structural steel components using MIG and/or stick welding while following blueprint and work instructions.

Location: Tallapoosa, GA

Job Shift: Day (6am-6:30pm) / Night (6pm-6:30am)

Pay Rate: $22 / hour

Key Duties

• Measure, align, and fit structural steel components
• Read blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols
• Set up welding tools and equipment
• Measure, cut, tack, weld, grind, and clean materials
• Operate welders, torches, drills, saws and other shop equipment
• Inspect finished welds for quality and accuracy
• Maintain equipment and keep work area clean
• Report equipment or quality issues to supervisor

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months welding experience preferred
• Production welding experience is a plus
• AWS certification helpful but not required
• Experience interpreting mechanical drawings required
• Ability to pass welding test/certification
• Basic math and measuring skills required
• Able to work overtime/weekends when needed
• Knowledge of steel alloys, welding material, and fabrication tools preferred
