Job summary

Plus One, an Optum Company, is seeking an energetic Exercise Specialist to support a Lincoln, Rhode Island fitness center. You will conduct fitness consultations, design progressive programs and educate participants on safe exercise and wellness options.

You will also complete internal courses and maintain high levels of customer service. You should have a degree in exercise science or kinesiology or a related certification, CPR/First Aid, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology or a related field or an NCCA-accredited personal training certification.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Knowledge of exercise testing and prescription, plus ability to operate fitness tools and equipment.
• Ability to network, engage and interact with clients, guests and members.
• Competence with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Conduct fitness consultations, including movement screens, needs analyses and goal setting.
• Develop progressive fitness programming to motivate participants and ensure a positive experience.
• Instruct participants on safe use of cardio, flexibility and strength training equipment.
• Educate on health and fitness information and available wellness services.
• Complete internal development courses via LMS.
• Maintain high quality of customer and client experience.
