Job summary

Plus One, part of the Optum Workplace Well-being portfolio of services, is seeking an Exercise Specialist to support healthy lifestyle habits at a high-profile fitness center in Rancho Mirage, CA. This full-time role focuses on consultations, program design and client engagement.

You will lead movement screens, develop progressive fitness plans, and educate participants on wellness services while maintaining exceptional service and leveraging company benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology or related field, or a NCCA-accredited personal training certification.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Knowledge of exercise testing (assessments) and exercise prescription (program design).
• Ability to network and engage with clients, guests and members.
• Competence with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing fitness consultations including movement screens, needs analyses and goal setting.
• Develop comprehensive progressive fitness programming to support and motivate participants.
• Instruct participants on safe and effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility and strength equipment.
• Educate participants on health and wellness information and available programs.
• Complete internal development courses through the LMS.
• Maintain positive customer and client experience through high-quality service.
