Planet Fitness, a private equity-backed fitness retailer, is seeking candidates for the role of a Fitness Trainer. The Fitness Trainer must be friendly, courteous, and capable of delivering excellent service while promoting Ignite Fitness Holdings-Planet Fitness Mission, Vision, and Values. The role involves balancing multiple tasks with a friendly demeanor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Observe participants and inform them of corrective measures for skill improvement.
2. Instruct participants on exertion levels to maximize exercise benefits.
3. Teach proper breathing techniques during exertion.
4. Evaluate individuals' abilities, needs, and conditions to develop suitable training programs.
5. Monitor progress and adapt programs as needed.
6. Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations.
7. Administer emergency first aid, treat injuries, or refer injured persons to physicians.

Hours

(Initial training hours may vary; discuss your availability with the Hiring Manager or note it on your application.)

• Weekday hours based on club needs.

Skills

• Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift.
• Occasionally lift and carry up to 30 pounds with safety equipment.
• Occasionally bend and twist for up to one hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Six months of face-to-face customer service experience in retail or one year of fitness experience preferred.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Certification is required; if not certified, a course will be provided, and completion is required within the first few months.
