Job summary

Planet Fitness in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a part-time trainer to design individualized exercise programs and promote safe, effective fitness plans for members. You will deliver exceptional customer service to members and guests, supporting a welcoming, judgment-free environment.

Qualifications include being 18+, lifting 45+ pounds, and possessing NASM/ACSM/ACE/NCSF/NSCA/ISSA/WITS certifications or working toward one within 6 months. Salary offers hourly pay with benefits as listed.

Responsibilities

• Design individual exercise programs for each member based on their experience, medical background, and personal goals.
• Develop and implement safe, effective, and appropriate exercise programs for individuals who are apparently healthy or have medical clearance to exercise.
• Provide superior customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring an exceptional "Judgement Free" member experience.

Qualifications, Physical Demands and Qualifications

• Continual standing and walking during shift.
• Continual talking to members and potential members in person and on the phone during shift.
• Desire and capacity to train at all fitness levels.
• Must be able to lift 45+ pounds.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Certification: National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accredited certifications such as NASM, ACSM, ACE, NCSF, NSCA, ISSA and/or WITS (discounts and reimbursement available). If no certification at hire, will be hired as Member Service Representative and must obtain certification within 6 months.
• Customer Service experience preferred.
• Punctuality and reliability is a must.
• Passion for fitness and health.
• Strong listener with ability to empathize and problem solve.
• Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language.
