Job summary

Florida Gulf Coast University is seeking a Coordinator II, Fitness Programs to oversee daily operations of fitness programs for students, faculty, and staff. You will lead program development, delivery, and supervise student staff, while collaborating with professional staff to support overall operations.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, CPR/First Aid/AED certifications, and NC-certified fitness credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management or related field
• Two years of full-time campus recreation experience preferred
• Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications or ability to obtain within 3 months
• NCCA-certified group exercise or personal training credentials (ACSM, ACE, AFAA, NSCA, NASM, NCCPT or equivalent)
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Develops, plans and implements fitness programs and events.
• Hire, supervise, and train student staff (Fitness Attendants, Graduate Assistants, Instructors, Personal Trainers).
• Oversees staff performance and training development.
• Manage reports and analyze financial information for planning.
• Coordinate Exercise is Medicine program and related participant support.
