Aquila's Fitness Manager oversees fitness center programs, assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center.
The salary for this position is $27.88/hour which is $58,000 annually, depending on experience, plus company benefits listed below. The start date for the position will be August 1, 2025. Candidates must be able to work in person 40 hours a week, 8 hours daily, Monday-Friday. There is no weekend work. Work hours are 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., 8 am to 4 pm; and 1 pm to 9 pm on alternating days. Candidates should be able to work all shifts on alternating days. The location is in Worcester, MA.

Responsibilities Include
- Act as main liaison on-site with Aquila's client contact
- Formulate and execute fitness center policies and plans
- Ensure fitness center is staffed at all times and that client contract requirements are being met consistently
- Supervise and monitor exercise participants, perform exercise assessments, and exercise prescription
- Teach group fitness movement classes
- Conduct personal fitness training sessions with members of fitness center
- Interview, select, manage, coach, and mentor two full time team members and any part time team members
- Prepare reports as needed regarding the fitness center operations
- Supervise exercise areas
- Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
- Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
- Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
- Aid members - spotting and equipment usage & explain all equipment
- Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
- Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
- Adhere to client’s policies and procedures
- Conduct and lead staff meetings
- Lead wellness and fitness promotions and external events
- Perform daily administrative duties
- Any other responsibilities as assigned or required for the position
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Promotion, or an active, NCCA accredited National Fitness Certification - (ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM, NCSF, NCCPT or AFAA)
- Active CPR/BLS certification
- 1-2 years experience supervisory and fitness experience
