Overview

The Town of Snowmass Village is seeking a Fitness Instructor to join our Parks, Recreation and Trails team. This is an in-person, part-time position with benefits. The role involves providing group fitness classes (Yoga, cycling, HIIT, TRX, Water Aerobics), monitoring safety, and creating a positive environment for participants.

Responsibilities
  1. Teach scheduled classes, ensuring timely start and end, including warm-up, exercises, stretching, and cool-down.
  2. Monitor and record attendance, assist patrons, answer questions, and foster a positive exercise experience.
  3. Handle pre-class setup and post-class cleanup, including equipment storage.
  4. Provide pre-class instructions, greet participants, gather information on limitations or injuries, and preview the class.
  5. Modify exercises for participants with special needs or limitations.
  6. Prepare equipment, music, and handouts for each class.
  7. Organize activities to deliver high-quality instruction.
  8. Build positive relations with participants and help them understand fitness progress.
  9. Address minor public complaints and escalate others to the Fitness & Aquatics Coordinator.
  10. Enforce facility rules and standards.
  11. Assist in developing special programs and activities.
  12. Maintain personal fitness to perform job duties effectively.
  13. Inspect equipment and facilities, providing recommendations.
  14. Establish effective working relationships, plan, organize, and complete tasks efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Certification in personal training, yoga, Pilates, TRX, or related fields.
  • Maintain current nationally recognized certification; provide proof annually.
  • First aid and CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain within one month).
  • Knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology, and training principles.
  • Experience with group fitness strategies, music, cueing, and rhythm.
  • Choreography and music skills.
  • Professional attitude and ability to motivate participants.

Compensation
