Job description

The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a Fitness Instructor to join the team! Join one of the last surviving wooden Victorian beach resorts in the world after a $400M renovation (https://www.costar.com/article/749120602/blackstone-completes-400-million-expansion-at-iconic-san-diego-hotel) and expansion; the resort is more stunning than ever.

Located on Coronado Island, just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and features over 750 rooms, cottages, and villas, with 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets, including 4 restaurants, 2 bars, a food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of personal training experience, experience leading group classes ranging from 5-30 people, and certification in Personal Training plus another fitness/nutrition modality.

Classification: Part-Time (can be 1-5 days a week)

Shift: Various (classes are in 2-hour shifts, AM or PM; must be available weekdays, weekends, and holidays)

Pay Rate: $40.50 - $45.00 per hour, based on experience and location

What will I be doing?

As a Fitness Instructor, you will teach and facilitate fitness classes for members and guests, ensuring outstanding guest service and profitability. Responsibilities include:

1. Providing individual and group exercise instruction
2. Ensuring safe exercise practices
3. Staying current with exercise techniques and trends
4. Conducting opening and closing procedures
5. Greeting guests and responding to inquiries
6. Maintaining cleanliness of work areas and equipment
7. Monitoring facility use for safety
8. Performing general fitness duties as needed
