Job summary

La Paloma Country Club, part of Troon, is hiring a Fitness Instructor in Tucson, AZ. You will guide members through progressive training and lead fitness and aerobic classes in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment.

Qualifications include AA in Physical Education (or related field), current Personal Training Certification, and CPR/AED; First Aid preferred. Regular attendance and safety-focused work practices are required.

Qualifications

• AA in Physical Education or related field or 6 months to 1 year related experience.
• Current national Personal Training Certification required (ACSM, NSCA, AFAA, ISSA, etc.).
• Current CPR/AED certifications required.
• Current First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

La Paloma Country Club, located in Tucson, AZ, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Fitness Instructor! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part ofTroon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Key Responsibilities of the Fitness Instructor:

• Guides members through initial and progressive training in the areas of flexibility, aerobic conditioning and strength training.
• Instructs fitness and aerobic classes each week.
• Teaches proper stretching, strengthening, and aerobic exercises.
• Insures proper, up-to-date, and safe procedures are used in the teaching of all classes.
• Participates in continuing education seminars and workshops.
• Inspects exercise equipment and areas for cleanliness and safety.
• Performs light custodial duties such as wiping down equipment. Monitors cleanliness in the fitness classroom.
• Choreographs exercise sequences and aerobic routines for aerobic dance and exercise classes.
• Classes may be held in designated indoor classrooms, controlled outdoor settings, or outdoor aquatic settings.
• Monitors classes in progress, providing constructive assistance.
• Enforces all rules and regulations in a polite and professional manner.
• Assists the Athletic Manager with special events, workshops, seminars, and outdoor related activities.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications for the Fitness Instructor:

Associate's degree (AA) in Physical Education or related field; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates/Licenses:

• Current national Personal Training Certification required (ACSM, NSCA, AFAA, ISSA, etc.).
• Current CPR/AED certifications required.
• Current First Aid certification preferred

Other Qualifications:

Regular and reliable attendance.

Experience and exposure with wide variety of exercise equipment, instructional techniques, injury prevention, fitness/wellness counseling, and developing/interpreting personalized fitness/wellness regimens.
