City of Kenner Civil Service Department is seeking a part-time fitness instructor to lead multi-level fitness classes for all ages, including seniors, in various rooms and facilities. This role supports the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department's Leisure Service Division.
Responsibilities include instructing classes, representing the department at classes, and reporting any problems to the Leisure Service Supervisor. Must be at least 18 and certified in fitness instruction.
THIS IS NOT A CIVIL SERVICE POSITION. ALL APPLICATIONS WILL BE FORWARDED TO THE PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT
Part Time: 10 Hrs/Week
To teach multi-level fitness classes for all ages including senior citizens such as aerobics, kickboxing, circuit training, sit fit, etc. and able to teach in multiple rooms and facilities.
To instruct fitness classes. To be the representative for the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department at fitness classes for interpretation ofthe rules and regulations. To be responsible to report to the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department any problems that may occur during class.
Willberequired towork atassigned location ofclass.Work hours willbedetermined by schedule set for fitness classes by the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department, Leisure Service Division.
This individual must be able to read and to be able to comprehend directionsfromtheLeisureServiceSupervisor orLeisureServiceManager concerning various rules and regulations set forth by the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department,Leisure Service Division. Mustbeable toactasamediator and supervisor if a dispute occurs during class.
Stereo equipment and hand weights.
Standing, bending and moving constantly during class instruction time.
Must be able to communicate in English both orally and in writing.Must be able to comprehend verbal or written direction and instructions from the Leisure Service Supervisor.
To be able to monitor and respond in a responsible manner in various situations and to maintain an objective attitude, tact and discretion under these conditions.
