Kenner Parks and Recreation Department seeks a part-time dance instructor to teach beginner through advanced classes for ages 7 and up, choreograph routines in Jazz and Hip Hop, and provide music selections for classes. The role also involves representing the department at classes and coordinating with parents during performances.
Evening hours with some weekends are required, and candidates should be able to facilitate community performances, parades, and classroom safety protocols while

Part Time:10 Hrs/Week
To teach beginner,intermediate and/or advanced levels of dance for ages 7 and up. Must be able to choreograph and demonstrate Jazz and Hip Hop. Baton is a plus. Provide music selections for classes. And to be a representative of the program for the parents.
Willberequiredtoworkatassignedlocation ofclass.Workhours willtakeplace during evening hours with some weekends possible, and will be determined by schedule set by the Kenner Parks and Recreation Department, Leisure Service Division.
This individual must be able to read and to be able to comprehend directions from the Program Coordinator or Leisure Service Manager concerning various rulesandregulations setforthby theKenner Parks andRecreation Department, Leisure Service Division.Must be able to actas a mediator and supervisor if a dispute occurs during class.
To be able to monitor and respond in a responsible manner in various situations and to maintain an objective attitude, tact and discretion under these conditions.
Must be age 18 orolderwith a strong backgroundindance and atleast (2) years of teaching or equivalent dance experience.
(2+) years of class instruction. Teacher certification.
