Job summary

Supreme Fitness Group in Kailua-Kona, HI seeks a Core Fitness Instructor to run the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, assess member goals, and design simple workouts while teaching safe equipment use.

Responsibilities include front-desk duties, daily club checks, and maintaining a positive member experience on the floor. A nationally certified training certificate and being 18+ are required.

Qualifications

• Nationally certified training certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Run the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF).
• Assist new members in achieving their fitness goals by designing simple workout programs and instructing on proper equipment use.

Core Fitness Instructor Responsibilities

• Conduct and run the Planet Fitness PE@PF program, including creating and following the schedule.
• Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on proper and safe equipment use.
• Promote the Judgement Free Zone by engaging with members on the club floor and providing support, while upholding club policies.
• Frequently perform a comprehensive walk of all fitness areas, ensuring great member experience and quickly addressing identified issues.
• Create bi‑weekly updates of a variety of exercises.
• Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
• Respond to member questions and concerns timely and professionally, escalating to Assistant Manager or Manager as needed.

Front Desk Related Activities

• Answer phones friendly and assist callers with various questions.
• Check members into the system.
• Handle new member sign‑ups.
• Take prospective members on tours.
• Facilitate updates to members’ accounts.

Cleaning and Maintenance Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize all exercise equipment and Black Card spa amenities.
• Perform comprehensive walks of all club areas, quickly fixing safety/policy issues and addressing cleanliness concerns.
• Ensure restrooms are clean, sanitized, stocked, and clutter-free following the routine cleaning schedule.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous fitness trainer/instructor experience preferred.
• Nationally certified training certificate required.
• Passion for fitness and health.
• Upbeat and positive attitude.
• Punctuality and reliability required.
• Exceptional customer service skills; able to interact positively and professionally with members and coworkers, exceeding expectations.
• Strong listener with ability to empathize and problem‑solve.
• Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language.
• High school diploma/GED equivalent preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Physical Demands

• Continual standing and walking during shift.
• Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Will encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
• Move self in different positions, including bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and twisting to accomplish tasks.
