Job summary

Planet Fitness in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Fitness Ambassador for an entry-level, full-time role. You’ll be the welcoming heartbeat on the club floor, greet members, assist with check-ins, and promote programs while learning basic training techniques.

No prior fitness background required; we’ll train you. You’ll build relationships, help maintain a clean, safe environment, and have clear pathways into leadership as you gain certification (NCSF) and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 18+ years old.
• Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or fitness preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Passion for fitness and helping others; willingness to learn basic training techniques (certification not required but encouraged).
• Must be able to perform and demonstrate a wide range of exercises, including strength, cardio, and flexibility movements.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (often 4-8 hours per shift) while engaging with members on the fitness floor.
• Capability to lift, move, and adjust fitness equipment weighing up to 50 lbs safely.
• Must complete fitness training certification (NCSF) within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Greet members with enthusiasm and make everyone feel welcome.
• Be a visible, approachable presence on the fitness floor.
• Assist with check-ins, questions, and member needs.
• Promote programs, events, and club offerings.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and motivating environment.
• Build relationships - know names, celebrate wins, and encourage progress.
