Job summary

Taymax Group, LP, a multi-unit Planet Fitness franchisee, is seeking an Assistant Manager in Fairfield, CA to help oversee club operations and deliver a welcoming, non-intimidating fitness experience. This role supports the Club Manager and leads a team of staff across membership, training and maintenance.

The position requires 18+ years old, CPR certification, and a background in customer service. The company emphasizes a positive team atmosphere, accountability and strong guest service.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma/GED.
• One year of customer service experience, preferably in a gym or retail setting.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite) and ability to learn systems quickly.
• Strong supervisory, diplomacy and listening skills.
• Energetic, hardworking and passionate about health and fitness.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting, hiring and developing staff.
• Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests; ensure high service standards.
• Support Club Manager with staff scheduling and payroll processing.
• Lead front desk activities: greet members, check-in, answer questions and communicate updates.
• Oversee cleanliness and safety; coordinate maintenance and supplies within budget.
• Support marketing efforts and implement promotions; assist with bank deposits.
• Handle other duties as assigned to meet club needs.
