Job summary

YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc. is seeking a Fitness Attendant to serve as a liaison among participants, members, and staff, ensuring safe use of equipment and alignment with program policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Sound knowledge of accepted fitness practice and standards.
• Ability to develop and implement exercise plans for members.
• Ability to foster positive staff, peer, and program participant relations.
• Ability to supervise large groups of program participants in a workout environment.
• CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of employment.
• Criminal background check required; eligibility to work with children per state guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Instruct members in fitness orientations, according to accepted standards.
• Monitor the use of all fitness equipment to ensure member safety.
• Clean all equipment and fitness areas each shift and before leaving.
• Store weights properly on racks when not in use.
• Monitor equipment and facilities in locker/fitness areas.
• Oversee operations during non-business hours as needed to maintain safety and service.
• Support member retention and satisfaction through positive customer service.
• Assist in fundraising campaigns for the YMCA.
