Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) is seeking a Fitness Center Assistant Manager for the Prince George’s Sports & Learning Complex. This role oversees staff, conducts training, and helps run day-to-day operations of a multi-use venue.

You will assist in budgeting, marketing programs, and coordinating events to promote memberships and programs. The position requires leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to work on-call as the facility operates

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation, Recreation Management, Facility Management, Education, Business Administration, Physical Education, Communication, Leisure Services, or any related field.
• 1 year of responsible professional experience working in a facility related to parks, recreation, leisure services, or related specialty.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted to total five years.
• Valid driver's license per State and Commission rules.
• Contingent upon assignment, may require operating license or certifications (First Aid, CPR, AED, Lifeguard, etc.).
• Pass Commission medical exam.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hiring, supervision and evaluation of Fitness Center staff.
• Provide training opportunities for Fitness Center staff.
• Process, monitor and maintain staff timekeeping, evaluations and certifications.
