Austin Community College is seeking a Fitness Center Assistant (Hourly) to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly fitness environment and support faculty and students. The role includes greeting students, assisting with facility information, maintaining supplies, keeping equipment clean, setting up equipment, assisting users, and handling basic clerical tasks and records.
This is an hourly position with opportunities to contribute to student success.

Description of Duties and Tasks
Greets students and assists them with locating persons and information about the facilities and programs.
Maintains an inventory of supplies and materials.
Maintains cleanliness for equipment and environment.
Assists faculty with demonstration of proper technique or use of equipment.
May set up or configure equipment; may perform routine maintenance and repair.
May assist students, or monitor and assist students, faculty, and staff in the use of equipment or facilities.
Performs clerical duties including operating a computer, maintaining records and files, and compiling data and reports as required.
Knowledge
Office administration and bookkeeping principles and practices.
Knowledge of specialized discipline depending on the area of assignment.
Safety principles and practices as it applies to area of assignment.
Must be willing to become CPR/AED First Aid and/or Red Cross Lifeguard Certified.

Work is performed in a variety of settings.

May be exposed to a variety of temperatures, noise, moving mechanical parts, or chemicals.
