JOB TITLE: FITNESS ATTENDANT OPENING SHIFT PLUS ROTATING WEEKEND SHIFT - RECREATION DEPARTMENT

CLASSIFICATION: PART-TIME, NON-EXEMPT

SUPERVISOR: HEALTH & FITNESS MANAGER

HOURS: SHIFTS ARE SCHEUDLED DURING FITNESS CENTER HOURS, 2-3 SHIFTS WEEKLY

Monday 4:30 AM – 9:00 AM and/or Wednesday 4:30 AM– 9:00 AM and/or Thursday 4:30 AM– 9:00 AM and/or Friday 4:30 AM– 9:00 AM

Plus, a rotating weekend shift: Saturday 6:30 AM – 12:00 PM or Saturday 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM or Sunday 6:30 AM – 11:00 AM or Sunday 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

EMPLOYMENT GRADE: 3 OR 4 BASED ON HOURS

PAY RANGE: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour (Expected Hiring range is $15.00 – 16.50 per hour)

Responsibilities

• Greet members as they enter the Fitness Center
• Check members into the Fitness Center and classes
• Make rounds of the Fitness Floor, locker rooms, and studios to check for trash and issues
• Supervise members on the use of equipment
• Conduct tours for new members and demonstrate equipment use
• Assist with member registration
• Follow laundry procedures
• Complete equipment cleaning and maintenance checklists
• Maintain a neat facility
• Assist Personal Trainers and handle emergencies
• Attend staff meetings and trainings
• Manage the second floor during programs
• Enforce Fitness Center etiquette
• Maintain schedules and reports

Qualifications

• Previous fitness experience preferred
• Trained in equipment use
• Current Red Cross first aid, CPR, and AED certifications within 3 months

Safety and Physical Requirements

• Uphold safety policies
• Respond to emergencies
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds
• Spend 60% of time at a computer
