Job summary

ENERSYS INC in Sumter, SC is seeking a Welder to set up and operate MIG welding equipment to fabricate sheet metal parts into assembled boxes.

Positions available on 2nd shift (2 PM–10 PM, Mon–Fri) or 3rd shift (Sun night to Fri morning, 10 PM–6 AM), full-time permanent. Must read blueprints, measure with a tape, lift up to 45 pounds, and work in a hot, humid environment with PPE.

Qualifications

• Must read and understand drawings and blueprints and use a tape measure.
• Ability to perform overtime on short notice, including weekends.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 45 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate MIG welding equipment to weld fabricated parts.
• Inspect parts for defects and ensure tolerances per drawings.
• Read blueprints and verify dimensions using tape measure.

SUMMARY: Sets up and operates MIG welding equipment to fit and weld fabricated sheet metal parts into fitted boxes to specified dimensional tolerances by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following: Other duties may be assigned. Inspect parts for defects from previous operations.

Must be able to satisfactorily perform all duties and responsibilities referenced in the work instructions for this position.

Must be able to read and understand drawings and blueprints and use a tape measure correctly.

Must be flexible and able to work overtime daily or weekends or have your daily schedule changed with little or no notice.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
