Job summary

Short Story in San Francisco is seeking a Technical Design Assistant to turn design vision into productions with a strong focus on fit and development from fabric to final sample. You will build tech packs, measure samples, run weekly fittings, capture fit comments, and keep development data clean while collaborating with senior designers, Merchandising, Sourcing, and overseas vendors.

Qualifications

BFA in fashion or the equivalent.

Responsibilities

Check construction & accurately measure development fit samples against technical specifications, flagting deviations ahead of fit sessions.
Assist in creating initial tech packs for key categories and update BOMs for factories.
Set up and prepare for weekly fittings, ensuring samples are accounted for and prepped.
Take accurate notes in fit sessions.
Support the team in executing fit comments and data entry.
Maintain WIP and Fit Notes Tracker for current reporting across the WIP platform.
Monitor deadlines and workflow, managing deliverables with the team.
Track, check in and organize fit samples through approval.
Maintain and organize development fit samples in-house.
Support team efficiency and speed-to-market.
