Job summary

Fishers YMCA in Fishers, IN is seeking a Part Time Program Instructor to lead aerobic and fitness classes under the Program Director’s supervision. You will create a welcoming, non-competitive atmosphere while ensuring safety and proper technique.

Qualified candidates should be 18+, with basic exercise science knowledge and the ability to learn choreography; current CPR AED/First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain them within 60–90 days are required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading group exercise is preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Knowledge of basic exercise science and safety for classes is preferred.
• Ability to learn and demonstrate aerobic choreography.
• Provide clear directions and ensure classroom safety.
• Maintain or obtain CPR AED, First Aid, Safety & Risk Management certifications within 60–90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision in aerobic/fitness classes under the Program Director.
• Maintain a safe non-competitive environment for YMCA members.

Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director/Coordinator, the Program Instructor will be primarily responsible for providing quality leadership and supervision, in aerobic and/or fitness classes, while maintaining a safe, non-competitive environment for YMCA members.

Qualifications:

• Experience leading group exercise is preferred.


• A minimum of 18 years of age.


• Knowledge of basic exercise science and fitness class leadership is preferred.


• Ability to learn and successfully demonstrate aerobic choreography.


• Verbally provide clear concise directions and visually inspect classroom for safety


• Maintain current certifications in CPR AED, First Aid, Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention, New Employee Orientation and other wellness department and designated Branch training, or the ability to obtain within 60-90 days of employment.
