Job summary

Fishers YMCA is seeking a Part Time Program Instructor to lead group exercise classes under supervision at the Fishers, IN location. You will provide quality leadership and supervision while maintaining a safe, non-competitive environment for members.

The role requires a high school diploma, 18+ years old, knowledge of exercise science and the ability to demonstrate aerobic choreography. CPR/AED, First Aid and related certifications are required or obtainable within 60–90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and group exercise leadership experience preferred.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Knowledge of basic exercise science and fitness class leadership.
• Ability to demonstrate aerobic choreography.
• Provide clear directions and visually inspect classroom for safety.
• Maintain CPR/AED, First Aid, Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention certifications or obtain within 60–90 days of employment.

Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director, the Program Instructor will be primarily responsible for providing quality leadership and supervision, in group exercise classes, while maintaining a safe, non-competitive environment for YMCA members.

Qualifications:

• A high school diploma and experience leading group exercise is preferred.
• A minimum of 18 years of age.
• Knowledge of basic exercise science, biomechanics principles and fitness class leadership is required.
• Ability to successfully demonstrate aerobic choreography.
• Verbally provide clear concise directions and visually inspect classroom for safety
• Maintain current certifications in CPR AED, First Aid, Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention and New Employee Orientation or the ability to obtain within 60-90 days of employment.
