Job summary

State of South Dakota’s Department of Game Fish and Parks seeks an Intern - Fisheries Management in Webster, SD for the Spring session (January - May). The intern will assist with fisheries management across northeast SD, perform fieldwork, data collection, and AIS education, and may participate in independent research.

Applicants must be current students and able to work nights/weekends with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be enrolled as a part-time or full-time student in the upcoming semester.
• Preference may be given to juniors/seniors, SD residents, and students of SD institutions.

Responsibilities

• Field work such as netting, electrofishing, and AIS watercraft inspection.
• Data entry and laboratory tasks including aging structures.
• Maintenance of vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds; potential for independent research.
