Job summary

Ocean Associates Inc. (OAI) seeks an applicant to provide quantitative analysis, predation modeling, and data synthesis support to NOAA Fisheries, Northwest Fisheries Science Center, Fish Ecology Division in Seattle, WA.

Responsibilities include data compilation, spatial-temporal modeling, and scientific communication. PhD required with 5+ years experience in related fields; strong quantitative skills and familiarity with R, GIS, and GitHub.

Qualifications

• Doctorate from an accredited college or university with emphasis in geomorphology, oceanography, hydrology, fisheries, ecology, natural sciences, mathematics, and/or statistics.
• Five or more years of related experience; advanced degree may substitute years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Data Compilation & Spatial-Temporal Modeling: analyze large-scale spatial-temporal datasets to evaluate predator-prey distributions and predation rates.
• Scientific Communication: author technical reports and peer-reviewed manuscripts; present at regional meetings and conferences.
• Ecological Literature Reviews: summarize predator consumption rates, abundance, distribution, and environmental stressors.
