The Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 1, Spring Creek National Fish Hatchery seeks an Animal Caretaker (WG-5) to maintain hatchery operations and care for fish according to routine schedules.

You will catch and handle fish with nets or hands, feed on a regular schedule, record size/weight/sex/age, and monitor behavior, reporting changes to supervisors. This role requires attention to safety, cleanliness, and meticulous record-keeping.

Qualifications

• WG-5 level duties require following routine schedules and standard work methods.
• Applicants should be able to catch and handle fish and keep tank records.

Responsabilités

• Catch and handle fish with nets or hands.
• Provide regular/scheduled feeding.
• Pick mortalities daily.
• Record fish size, weight, sex, and age and report changes in behavior.
