Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital seeks a Financial Analyst to manage finances for clinical research projects, including budgets, contracts, expenditures, invoicing, patient expenditures, and fiscal compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Health Administration, preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in strategic initiatives for financial contracts, budgets, expenditures, invoicing, and fiscal tracking.
  • Develops and distributes accurate information to analyze fiscal operations and support budget management.
  • Generates and monitors reports on project enrollments, grant/fiscal management goals, and clinical trial enrollment; provides feedback to stakeholders.
  • Guides and supports the Consortium to initiate research projects, develop budgets, and implement new sub sites as collaborators.
  • Assists with operating budgets and ongoing analysis reporting to collaborators, funding agencies, regulatory agencies, and others.
  • Monitors KPIs to measure efficiency of resource expenditures and office operations.

Overview:
Job Description Summary:

Collects, analyzes, and summarizes the financial objectives of the clinical research office to effectively collaborate in management of the overall financial operations for clinical research projects. Coordinates financial contracts, budgets, expenditures, invoicing, billing, patient expenditures, fiscal tracking, and overall fiscal compliance.

Job Description:
Essential Functions:
  • Participates in the implementation of short-and long-term strategy initiatives for financial contracts, effective research budgets, expenditures, patient incentives, and fiscal tracking.
  • Develops and distributes accurate and timely information used to analyze current fiscal operations, aid in problem resolution, and create effective budget management.
  • Develops, generates, and monitors reports related to project enrollments, grant or fiscal management goals, and clinical trial enrollment. Provides feedback to the clinical research office, principal investigators, subsites, and the McConnell NEXT Consortium as needed.
  • Provides guidance and support to the McConnell NEXT Consortium to initiate research projects, develop effective research budgets and expense reporting, and implement new sub sites as collaborators. Identifies trends and developments and presents recommendations about financial data.
  • Assists with the organization and coordination of the clinical research office operating budgets. Assists with the ongoing analysis project reporting to collaborators, funding agencies, regulatory agencies, and any other collaborators involved.
  • Monitors key performance Indicators used to measure the efficiency of resource expenditures as well as the effectiveness of clinical research office operations.
Education Requirement:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Health Administration, preferred.
Licensure Requirement:

Certified Public Accountant, preferred.

Experience:
