Job summary

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is seeking a Fiscal Assistant in the Cash Management and Sales Audit Division to reconcile store sales from POS records with bank file records for cash, checks, and other tenders, and to reconcile lottery sales records with lottery files.

The role requires attention to detail and reconciliation experience, with telework potential and full-time hours in Harrisburg.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work.
  • Associate degree in accounting or business administration with or without six credits in accounting.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • ACH Transfers: initiate daily transfers between control accounts and the Treasury.
  • System Tools: use ReconNet, xStore, xAdmin, Brinks 24SEVEN, and PNC Pinnacle for reconciliation.

THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) has an exciting opportunity for a Fiscal Assistant in the Cash Management and Sales Audit Division. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, researching, and reconciling discrepancies between store sales as reported from the agency's Point of Sale (POS) records and the bank file records for cash, checks, and other tenders as well as identify, research, and reconcile discrepancies between store lottery sales records and the lottery files. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This role centers on daily financial reconciliation tasks and supports audit documentation needs. As a Fiscal Assistant, you will perform the following duties:

  • Daily Reconciliation: Review financial records for store and licensee service center locations and verify cash, checks, and other tenders
  • Audit Support: Compile and submit documentation to the Auditor General's Office or Bureau of Audits in response to audit requests
  • Lottery Review: Examine lottery sales documentation and identify and research variances for correctness
  • ACH Transfers: Initiate daily transfers from PNC and Santander control accounts to the Pennsylvania Department of Treasury
  • System Tools: Use ReconNet, xStore, xAdmin, Brinks 24SEVEN, and PNC Pinacle for reconciliation and research

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will have the opportunity to work from home part-time up to four days a week, with one day per week in the Northwest Office Building in Harrisburg. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
  • An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
