Job summary

Washington State University is seeking a Fiscal Analyst 2 to provide financial information, prepare reports, and analyze allocations, revenues, and expenses for the School of Molecular Biosciences. The role includes guiding budget planning, balancing operating and permanent budgets, supervising support staff, and advising faculty and administrators on expenditures and fiscal policies.

This is a full-time, 12-month position with benefits and a salary range provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and one year of relevant professional experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience working efficiently and accurately with numbers.
  • Experience with computers, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive financial information, report preparation, and analysis for the School of Molecular Biosciences accounts.
  • Review, analyze, and forecast allocations, revenues, and expenses; prepare budget reports.
  • Lead budget planning, including carry forwards, projections, and account setup.
  • Balance revenue transfers and cash receipts and advise on fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Consult with faculty, Director, and Administrative Manager on startup funding and allowable expenditures.
