Position Duties

The position duties for Fiscal Accounts Technician I include reconciling agency accounting systems to fiscal control systems, developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports, identifying budget trends and recommending budget realignments. The position analyzes, processes, and reports accounts receivable and payable to provide support to the accountants and fiscal management. Responsibilities include maintaining the accounts receivable database and reviewing, calculating, verifying, recording, and reconciling accounts payable.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Experience: Three years of experience reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting, and balancing financial transactions.
  • Note: Experience calculating and recording financial data may substitute for one year of required high school education on a year‑for‑year basis.
  • Note: Six credit hours in accounting from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of required experience.
  • Note: Military service experience in applicable financial classifications may substitute for one year of required experience.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of professional experience utilizing an automated system for accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking receipts and disbursements, supply inventory, or fixed asset inventory.
  • Two years of professional experience creating and using spreadsheets.
Selection Process
