FC Cincinnati is offering a First Team Sports Science Intern role based at the Mercy Health Training Center in Milford, Ohio. The position provides hands-on experience supporting FCC and FCC2 players from February through April 2027, with potential continuation based on performance.

Flexible schedule, ~4 days/week, typically 9am–2pm/3pm, and hourly pay with college credit options. Responsibilities include data collection, analysis, workload monitoring, and feedback to stakeholders.

• Enrolled in an Exercise Science undergraduate or higher program or just completed.
• Experience maintaining databases and working with athlete monitoring systems.
• Knowledge of sports science, strength and conditioning and data science principles.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools and coding (Tableau, R, Python, SQL).
• Proficiency in common sports science technologies and software (GPS systems & VALD equipment).

• Apply data driven methodologies to evaluate athlete performance.
• Support the club-wide monitoring strategies by tracking individual player data and helping manage workloads to mitigate injury risk and optimize player health, well-being and readiness
• Utilize a variety of technologies to quantify internal and external training load and assess player responses to training
• Conduct in-house projects to evaluate the effectiveness of performance interventions

Job Title: First TeamSports Science Intern

Reports to: Director of Sports Science

Department: Sports Performance

Position Summary:

This internship provides the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience working in a professional soccer organization. The sports science internship position will assist staff supporting FCC and FCC2 players. This position will be based out of the Mercy Health Training Center in Milford, Ohio. Flexible working days, on average 4 days a week, mainly working 9am-2pm/3pm. This is an hourly paid position & college credit is available if required.

Please note this position is allotted for the 2027 MLS Sprint Season, which runs from February through April. However, there may be an opportunity for continued employment during the 2027–2028 season based on organizational needs and individual performance.
